The honesty cadence

capability: Method · last revised August 2026

A standing session, every two weeks, on the calendar before it is needed. The delta between belief and reality gets read aloud on schedule, whether or not anyone feels ready. Forty-five minutes, four items, no slides.

    1

    Read the numbers

Each confidence number from the worksheet, read aloud, with what changed since last time. No adjectives; numbers and evidence only.

    2

    Name the riskiest assumption

One sentence, spoken by the founder: the assumption that, if wrong, kills the venture. If it hasn't changed in three sessions, ask why no experiment has touched it.

    3

    Book the next experiment

The cheapest test that could move the riskiest number. Named, dated, falsifiable. Small enough to survive being wrong.

    4

    Check the delta

Where belief and reality have drifted apart, say so plainly. This is where the pivot conversation happens on time instead of six months late.

The cadence works because it is structural, not motivational: it is booked before it is needed, so showing up honest requires no courage on the day.
